September 24
President Yasuda published an article entitled "Freedom for choosing death practices" in a leading national newspaper, Asahi Shimbun.
December 21
President made presentations to the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

1991

February 2
The society held the first meeting in Iidabashi, Tokyo.
June 1
The society published the first issue of the newsletter, Saisei (vol. 1).
October 5
The society conducted the first shizensou.
October 15
An announcement on the first shizensou was made, attracting much media attention. The Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Health and Welfare both supported the validity of our claim.
October 24
Twenty-seven members visited Shanghai to study scattering in China.

1992

April 25
The society organized the symposium entitled "Rights to choose death practices."
August 22
Forty-four members took an overnight trip to visit a potential forest of rebirth in Ueno village, Gunma Prefecture.

1993

March 7
The society conducted the first shizensou in the mountains-Mt. Omori in Miyagi Prefecture."
July 22
The society conducted shizensou at Osaka Bay.
September 4
Representatives of the society visited Beijing, China, to make a presentation at an international conference on death practices.
September 11
The society invited religious specialists to participate in the panel discussion entitled "Life, death, and shizensou in contemporary Japan"at Sophia University.

1994

July 16
The society organized the symposium entitled "The forest of rebirth" at Tokyo Suisan University.

1995

April 24
The society conducted a collective shizensou for those who died due to the Hanshin Great Earthquake.

1996

September 24
The society organized the symposium entitled "Discussions concerning graves"at Sophia University. Eight panel discussants, Professor Yamaori Tetsuo and others, were invited to participate in the symposium.
November 21-28
Forty-four members, headed by Professor Yamaori Tetsuo, participated in the trip to Ganges River, India. The society conducted shizensou at the river.

1997

May 31
The society conducted the first shizensou in the sky, near Cape Ashizuri, Kochi Prefecture.
October 23
President and other members attended the Committee for Considering the Future of Cemeteries to protest the Ministry of Health and Welfare's move to legally limit shizensou.
November 9
Shizensou took place in the Forest of Rebirth (Western Tama Mountain Region, Tokyo) that belongs to the society.

1998

March 14
Five hundred people attended the talk delivered by writer Kinoshita Junji and the discussion session entitled "Let's protect our rights to choose death practices: We are against legally restricting shizensou."
June 29
The society submitted a letter of protest to the Committee for Considering the Future of Cemeteries and the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
July 5
Shizensou was conducted in the Forest of Rebirth (Niseko, Hokkaido Prefecture) that belongs to the society.
July 15-22
Members of the society participated in a trip to Mongolia. Shizensou was conducted in Gobi Desert.

1999

January 5
The society conducted shizensou at Kanmon Channel.

2000

April 21
The society conducted shizensou in the Forest of Rebirth (Mt. Aso Region).
May 13-15
The society celebrated the tenth anniversary with a symposium in Ueno Village.
October 19
The society conducted shizensou in the Forest of Rebirth in Kuji city, Iwate Prefecture.
