Introduction
By reviving an ancient Japanese tradition, we, members of a citizens' movement (Grave-Free Promotion Society of Japan), promote an environmentally sound mortuary practice, shizensou: scattering cremains of the deceased in nature.
Our goal is to build a stronger social consensus for our freedom to choose shizensou.
Jawaharlal Nehru (1889-1964) and Chou En-lai(1898-1976), former diplomat of USA Edwin O. Reischauer (1910-1990), Albert Einstein (1879-1955)--all of them chose shizensou and returned to nature.
